Squires Gate Holiday Camp
At the promenade end of Squires Gate Lane, the area know as Starr Hills was being used as a holiday campsite in 1930.

In 1937 Squires Gate Holiday Camp was officially opened by Gracie Fields in June – it was previously known as Squires Gate Camping Ground and later as the British Holiday Camp, Squires Gate.
