Feldmans Theatre & Queens Theatre

The Borough Theatre opened in September 1877 on Bank Hey Street; it was so-named because it was housed in the same building as the Borough Bazaar. When the building was sold in December 1879, the ‘Borough Bazaar’ became ‘Bannister’s Bazaar’

Jimmy Brennan bought Feldman’s Theatre in late 1951 and reopened it in 1952 as the Queen’s Theatre with a spectacular summer revue titled ‘Singing in the Reign’ starring Josef Locke and Nat Jackley.

 

The Queens Theatre closed in 1971, with the final Summer show starring Les Dawson, Dora Bryan, Ronnie Hilton, The Mistins, Lennie Bennett
