Burlington Road West – Convalescent Home – 1908

Burlington House was built by Councillor John Hall in the 1890’s, looking out onto the sand dunes and the sea. In 1902, Hall objected to a switchback being re-erected, blocking his view of the sea.

A footbridge has replaced the crossing and Burlington House was demolished in the 1980’s. The land is now the car park of the Pleasure Beach Station.
